Blood drive -University of Wah

PATHWEL organized the 2nd Blood Donation Camp on 11 February 2026, in partnership with ”Directorate of Student Affairs, University of Wah, under the theme “Saving Lives, One Donation at a Time. The camp saw strong participation, including students who donated blood to support thalassemia patients and others in need. Professional medical staff supervised the process, while volunteers ensured a safe and well-organized donation experience.

The partnership fostered a vibrant campus environment that combined academic values with humanitarian service. Attendees appreciated the efficient arrangements, courteous staff, and the meaningful opportunity to contribute directly to patient care.

A Proud Milestone for PATHWEL Center of Hematology & Bone Marrow Transplant

Pakistan Thalassemia Welfare Society (PATHWEL) proudly marked its international presence at the 67th American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting, held in Orlando, Florida, USA, from December 6–9, 2025.

Our distinguished hematologist, Dr. Laila Khan, successfully presented a poster at this prestigious global forum following the acceptance of her research abstract titled:

“Chorionic villus sampling acceptability and therapeutic abortion compliance in beta-thalassemia minor parents: A study in a low-middle income country.”

The abstract was selected for inclusion in the highly competitive ASH 2025 Scientific Program, representing a significant academic achievement for PATHWEL and highlighting Pakistan’s contribution to global hematology research.

Dr. Laila Khan’s presentation showcased PATHWEL’s commitment to evidence-based research, thalassemia prevention strategies, and improved patient outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. Her participation at ASH strengthened PATHWEL’s visibility on an international scientific platform and fostered global knowledge exchange in the field of hematology.This achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of a dedicated multidisciplinary team. Blood Camp at Govt. Associate College for Women

On February 3, 2026, the PATHWEL team successfully arranged a blood donation camp at Government Associate College for Women, Dhoke Hassu, Rawalpindi.
We are thankful to PATHWEL Vice President Dr. Jamal Nasir for facilitating approval from the college management and to Principal Ms. Shazia for actively motivating the students. The enthusiastic participation of female students made the camp a great success.
