Maj Gen (R) Prof Dr Parvez Ahmed HI(M)
Maj Gen (R) Prof Dr Parvez Ahmed is one of the pioneers in the field of clinical hematology and bone marrow transplantation in Pakistan. He worked as hematologist and bone marrow transplant physician at Armed Forces Bone Marrow Transplant Centre (AFBMTC) Rawalpindi, the largest bone marrow transplant (BMT) facility of the country since its establishment in 2001 and was commandant of the center from August 2009 to August 2016. He was commandant Armed Forces Institute of Pathology from August 2016 till his retirement in Sep 2017. After his retirement from active service in the armed forces, he successfully established BMT facility at Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital Islamabad. He is instrumental in establishing three additional BMT facilities in Pakistan; namely Center of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant at Gambat Institute of Medical Science Sindh, Pathwel Center of Hematology and BMT at Thalassemia Center Rawalpindi and BMT center at PKLI Lahore. He is founding president of the Pakistan Blood and Marrow Transplant group. Dr Ahmed is Dean Committee of Clinical Haematology at College of Physician and Surgeons Pakistan, is past president, Pakistan Society of Haematology, is member Emeritus American Society of Hematology and the international transplant groups like European Blood and Marrow Transplant, Asia Pacific Blood & Marrow Transplant, and Eastern Mediterranean Blood & Marrow Transplant group. He has presented research at various national and international forums and has over 100 scientific publications to his credit. Presently he is working as Hematologist & Director Bone Marrow Transplant Program at QIH Islamabad, medical director Pathwel Center of Hematology and Bone marrow transplant, Rawalpindi, HOD, Department of Hematology & BMT Gambat and visiting BMT consultant PKLI Lahore.
Maj Gen (R) Qamar Un Nisa Chaudhry HI(M)
Maj Gen (R) Qamar Un Nisa Chaudhry HI(M) is a graduate of Army Medical College, Rawalpindi. She is a Consultant in Haematology and specializes in Haemato-oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation. She has worked at the Armed Forces Bone Marrow Transplant Centre Rawalpindi since 2004 and served as Commandant of this prestigious institute from 2019 to Sept 2023. She is a Professor of Haematology and is on the Faculty of Clinical Hematology for the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Pakistan. She has recently joined Pathwel Center of Hematology and BMT, Rawalpindi after her retirement from active military service.
Maj Gen (R) Qamar Un Nisa Chaudhry is one of the pioneers of Clinical Haematology in Pakistan and is an inspiring teacher and an avid researcher. She has presented research papers at numerous scientific conferences and has more than 65 scientific publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals to her credit. Her special area of interest are bone marrow failure disorders and haploidentical transplantation.
She has been awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz Mil by the President of Pakistan for her meritorious services to the country.
