A life of generosity, honoring philanthropist and lifelong blood donor.
In a world that often feels divided, stories of unwavering generosity serve as a powerful reminder of our shared humanity. On 9th of October at the age of 85 we bid farewell to a remarkable individual whose legacy will live on the countless lives he touched_ for dedicated philanthropist and a steadfast advocate for blood donation.
Lt-Gen.( R )Dr. Mustafa Kamal Akbar was more than just a philanthropist, he was a beacon of hope and compassion throughout his life, devoted countless hours and resources to various charitable organizations.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Gen Kamal’s journey was his tireless commitment to blood donations. For decades, Gen Kamal made it a personal mission to donate blood regularly. With each donation, he contributed to saving lives in critical situations, providing essential support to hospital and helping those battling sever illnesses. He himself donated blood above 200 times.
He was a renowned eye specialist from Army Medical Core and excelled in his profession. He was Vice President in Pakistan Thalassaemia Welfare Society and served for many years. He would rally volunteers, raise awareness, and even accompany friends and neighbors to their first blood donation educating them about the importance of this simple yet powerful act. His involvement in local Hospitals and NGOS aimed at increasing access to medical care for underserved population. He visited different universities and colleges giving lectures on awareness of blood donation.
His last visit to our center was 5 days before his eternal departure- he wanted to donate a wheel chair for the needy patients and made all the arrangements but due to his illness he could not pursue it.
May ALLAH grant him highest place in jannah.
